Prometheus cries out in pain. Zeus punished him with a terrible punishment for giving fire to humans: An eagle that comes every day eats the liver of Prometheus, who was tied to the Caucasus Mountains. Heracles killed the eagle and opened the first handcuffs that bound the hero.

Prometheus is screaming in pain. Zeus had given him a terrible punishment for giving fire to mankind: he was tied to the Caucasus mountains and had his liver pecked out daily by an eagle. Heracles had shot the eagle and can be seen to be undoing the first mannacle.
