Star and Crescent Riveted Niche Alem
The word alem, derived from the root of knowledge, means "demonstrating, informing, trace, sign, indication and token" in the dictionary. Its plural is a'lam. Flags, banners and border stones are also called alem.
We tried to reinterpret the classical finials that take their place in spaces for decorative purposes in different forms. The front and back areas are concave and symmetrically worked, and are bronze coated. The transition between the finials and the base is provided with a zencerek pattern. The work, which is mounted on four spiral solid irons surrounding the solid wood, is fixed on a cast foot with wooden shoes. The calligraphy on the Çintemani and crescent star consists of practice studies called "Karalama". The riveted work crescent star finials refer to the attachment of two pieces to each other with hot rivets in ironwork. Bronze coated. Size: 34.5x63.5x15 cm.
